Cathedral Underwriting Ltd (CUL), a specialist re/insurance provider under Lancashire Holdings Ltd, has appointed Andrew McKee as its new chief executive officer, pending approval from Lloyd’s and other relevant regulatory agencies.

McKee has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance sector, having started his career at Sun Alliance in Bristol as a trainee in property underwriting. He later spent 18 years at Chubb, holding various senior roles in underwriting. In 2009, he became CEO of MSIG at Lloyd’s, the underwriting agency managing Syndicate 3210, specializing in corporate, commercial, and specialty insurance.

Before his appointment at Cathedral Underwriting, McKee was most recently CEO of MS Amlin’s Lloyd’s business.

In the meantime, Marion Madden will remain as interim managing director of CUL until McKee assumes his post.

Lancashire Group CEO Alex Mahoney commented: “I am delighted to welcome Andrew who brings to his new role as CEO of CUL long experience of managing a major Lloyd’s underwriting agency. He will lead that business and be a welcome addition to Lancashire’s executive management team.”
