Broadway Insurance Partners has made two senior appointments as part of its ongoing development, following a period of notable growth. According to a news release, the firm has recruited Melissa Golder to its healthcare division and Michael Blacklock to its corporate team.
“Melissa and Michael bring the kind of experience and skills which are incredibly important to the way in which we support clients,” said chief executive Daniel Lloyd-John. “As with our private client team, both our healthcare and corporate divisions have seen a sharp rise in business over the last 12 months. It has been conspicuous that even though we very much have our roots in the North West, we have become the risk management advisor of choice for more individuals and companies across the UK and further afield during that period.”
Golder joins as senior health and wellbeing benefits consultant, bringing more than 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, including roles at Vitality, Bupa, and Reich. Golder’s appointment follows a successful year for Broadway’s healthcare division, which posted more than £1 million in gross written premiums (GWPs).
These hires bring the firm’s total staff count to 25.
In the first half of 2023, Broadway’s client base grew by 45%, and the number of policies it oversees increased by 51%. The firm generated £6 million in GWP during this period and is on track to exceed £7.5 million in GWP by the end of the year, the news release noted. The value of assets insured by Broadway also reached a new high in 2023, surpassing £2 billion.
