Bridge Specialty Group, a wholesale and specialty insurance brokerage, has announced plans to consolidate its London-based businesses under the newly formed Bridge Specialty International. This transition will start in December with the rebranding of Lonmar Global Risks. The integration of Decus Insurance Brokers and BdB Limited into Bridge Specialty International is expected to follow in 2025.
According to a news release, the reorganisation is intended to bring together the strengths of Lonmar, Decus, and BdB, enhancing their collective capacity across a variety of insurance sectors and expanding access to resources for clients, producers, and coverholders. Bridge Specialty Group stated that the new structure will allow for a streamlined operational approach in the UK, with potential growth into international markets.
“Our vision is to create a new force in the London and international markets,” said Tim Coles, CEO of Bridge Specialty International. “By integrating our three London-based businesses, we are harnessing our collective strengths and building a strong platform from which to achieve this.”
Lonmar Global Risks, created in 2018, serves a global network in over 70 countries, with established access to underwriters in London and other major insurance hubs. Decus Insurance Brokers, founded in 2008, has a particular focus on the US market, while BdB Limited, in operation since 1993, works primarily with European markets, including France, Italy, and Belgium.
Coles noted that London and Europe are a primary focus, with expansion into other European and Asian markets also under consideration.
