There is more to boxing than what happens in the ring, and Anthony Joshua OBE knows it well.

The former two-time heavyweight world champion has expanded his career beyond sport, building business ventures alongside his achievements in boxing. At the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) Conference 2025, he will discuss resilience, leadership, and success in and out of competition.

With 28 professional wins - 25 by knockout - and four losses, along with an Olympic gold medal from London 2012, Joshua has made a name for himself beyond boxing. On May 15, he will sit down with journalist Clive Myrie at the conference in Manchester to explore how principles from elite sport apply to business and personal growth.

BIBA chief executive Graeme Trudgill said the event will deliver insights for industry professionals navigating changes in insurance, business, and politics.

“It’s going to be a knock out with our inspiring and engaging line up for The BIBA Conference 2025," said Trudgill. "The subjects and speakers will offer relevant insights, motivation and learnings for our members as we move into a New Era of insurance broking, business, politics, capacity claims and much more.”

The conference will open with a geopolitical panel featuring Air vice marshal Ranald Munro, former deputy labour leader Baroness Harriet Harman KC, former defence secretary Penny Mordaunt, and journalist Justin Webb. The session will focus on how international developments affect the UK economy, business risks, and the insurance sector.

Alongside the keynote sessions, six seminars will address key trends and challenges shaping the industry.

To close the event, former England men’s football coach Sir Gareth Southgate will discuss leadership, strategy, and decision-making.

The BIBA Conference is free for staff of BIBA member broking firms, while non-members can access the exhibition and fringe sessions at no cost.
