Change is heading AXA UK’s way on March 01.
It’s been revealed that executive managing director of AXA Retail Gareth Howell is leaving the UK and Ireland business at the end of this month. The announcement did not specify the reason behind Howell’s decision to depart.
Meanwhile stepping up to the role, albeit temporarily, is personal intermediary and corporate partners managing director Laurent Matras (pictured). He will be joining Jon Walker and Waseem Malik on the AXA Insurance leadership team.
“I am grateful that Laurent has agreed to take on this role on an interim basis as we consider all our options,” commented AXA UK & Ireland chief executive Claudio Gienal. “His knowledge of the business and years of expertise will ensure a smooth transition.
“I would like to thank Gareth for his seven years of service and his contribution to AXA UK. I wish him well for the future.”
