British insurance giant
Aviva has recruited Stefano Hesse, a former regional corporate communications leader at Facebook and Google.
Hesse joined Aviva earlier this month, taking up the newly created role of global digital communications director, according to a report by
PR Week.
Reporting to Aviva chief digital officer Andrew Brem, Hesse will work closely with group communications director Nigel Prideaux.
Hesse told
PR Week that his appointment reflects the “digital first” strategy of the global insurer.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Hesse most recently served as an advisor at online music community and lyrics platform MusiXmatch.
Before that, he worked at Facebook for six years as director of corporate communications for the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.
Hesse also worked for six years at Google as corporate communications manager and head of corporate communications and public affairs for Southern Europe and Africa.
Earlier in his career, Hesse served as eBay’s communications manager.
