The Ardonagh Group has appointed a managing director for Italy to lead the brokerage’s expansion into the Italian market later this year.
Joining in November, Carlo Faina will make the switch from Berkshire Hathaway Reinsurance Group where he served as chief executive of the company’s operations in Italy for more than a decade. At Ardonagh, he will be in charge of driving forward the group’s growth strategy in the country.
“The uniqueness of Ardonagh’s European offering has helped attract a high-profile professional like Carlo,” stated Ardonagh Europe CEO Conor Brennan.
“We are delighted to welcome him to our leadership team, as we accelerate our mission to expand Ardonagh’s footprint in key European markets. Our goal is to build a portfolio of brands and insurance broker companies that are leaders in their target markets.”
Citing the “high-potential” Italian insurance market’s size and level of sophistication, Brennan said Italy will play a key role in Ardonagh Europe’s strategy.
Faina, who will bring a deep knowledge of the insurance and insurance brokerage market to the post, is thrilled to be instrumental in helping realise the group’s “ambitious” plan.
He commented: “Ardonagh’s phenomenal rise over the past five years, currently among the top 20 global brokers, is a testament to the strength, foresight, and talent of their management team and the quality of the many companies within the group that share Ardonagh’s vision.
“I am proud to start working in such an innovative company to develop its important brokerage activity in Italy.”
