James Dalton has started his stint as chief services officer at the Motor Insurers’ Bureau, leaving the Association of British Insurers (ABI) after one and a half decades. Stepping into the role of general insurance policy director in an interim capacity is tax expert Mervyn Skeet.
In a LinkedIn post, a “very thankful” Dalton described his last day at the trade body as an emotional one. He cited colleagues, ABI members, officials, members of Parliament, and everyone else who provided him support over the last 15 years.
The ABI stalwart made the shift to MIB last week.
Skeet, meanwhile, pointed to the “fantastic job” Dalton had done during his time at the association.
Prior to his appointment, Skeet served as ABI assistant director and head of taxation. He came onboard in 2017, bringing decades of experience from Chubb and XL Catlin.
