Senior claims professional Glen Eastwood (pictured) is now the managing director of MSL Ltd.
The Drive Further Collective firm – whose claims offerings include credit hire, legal services, and first notice of loss (FNOL) to fleets, driving instructors, taxis, classic cars, and motorbikes – tapped the former esure technical claims head for the newly created role. Prior to his immediate appointment, Eastwood ran a consultancy business providing recruitment services into the insurance industry.
“MSL is reinventing itself to offer a broader range of motor claims services, with a particular focus on niches, so it is an exciting time to be joining Nick Garner and the team,” noted the new MD, whose nearly three-decade experience includes time spent at Norwich Union, Eagle Star, and First Group.
Eastwood described the Cheadle-based business as having a ‘can-do’ reputation among specialist segments such as taxis “where being back on the road immediately is essential.”
He added: “There are also significant challenges within our sector, for example the future for diesel and ULEV vehicles in light of changing government policy. I want MSL to be the go-to business for service and advice, and I am excited by the opportunity.”
Meanwhile group chief executive Nick Garner said the appointment “is a measure of how ambitious we are for MSL,” citing the wealth of opportunities amid political and regulatory reform and the continued expansion of technology-led propositions in the claims space.
“We have grown considerably in recent months, and I felt we needed an experienced MD to make sure the different parts of the business are aligned and to have overall control of our strategy for growth,” explained Garner.
