Rokstone, the international specialty re/insurance managing general agent (MGA) under Aventum Group, has entered into a binder agreement with Lloyd’s Somers Syndicates 3705 and 5423 to secure underwriting capacity for international facultative property, power, and onshore energy risks.
The agreement supports Rokstone’s global property direct and facultative (D&F) business, which now exceeds US$300 million in gross written premium (GWP). The addition of Somers also broadens Rokstone’s range of reinsurance solutions, focusing on customized coverage for clients in the property, power, and energy sectors.
Senior property D&F underwriter Henry Hogarth (pictured above), who joined Rokstone in December 2024, said the agreement enhances the MGA’s ability to offer coverage across international facultative property, power, and onshore energy markets, reinforcing its presence in the global reinsurance sector.
Rokstone is ending the first quarter of 2025 with several major deals under its belt. Earlier this month, the specialty MGA also announced a new mid-market aviation program set to launch on April 1. It provides US brokers with access to Lloyd's capacity and is supported by Tokio Marine Kiln.
In February, Rokstone also launched Rokstone Commercial Risks, a direct-to-retail excess and surplus lines (E&S) MGA in the US, focusing on casualty-oriented E&S underwriting. This move addresses a market that exceeded US$95 billion in premiums in 2024, with an 11% year-on-year increase.
The previous year also saw major developments for the Aventum-owned business. In November, Rokstone received regulatory licensing from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to expand its operations in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region through its new DIFC office.
The same month also saw Rokstone introducing a global parametric insurance product in partnership with NormanMax Lloyd's Syndicate 3939, featuring an initial US$10 million facility.
