Allianz Trade has announced a leadership transition set for 2025, with Philippe Dessèvre (pictured above) appointed to succeed Benoît des Cressonnières as global head of reinsurance and CEO of Euler Hermes Reinsurance AG, effective Oct. 1, 2025. The appointment is pending regulatory approval.
Dessèvre, 56, has been with Allianz Trade since 2000, starting as head of financial control in France. He later served as CFO and COO of Allianz Trade Multinationals and Allianz Trade in France.
From 2016 to 2021, he held the role of group chief risk officer, and in 2022, he became CFO of Allianz Trade in DACH, a position he currently holds.
Euler Hermes Reinsurance AG, established in 2005 and based in Wallisellen, Switzerland, served as the internal reinsurer for the Euler Hermes Group. In 2018, Allianz Group completed the acquisition of Euler Hermes' outstanding shares, making it a fully owned subsidiary.
Subsequently, in March 2022, Euler Hermes rebranded to Allianz Trade, aligning with the Allianz brand identity.
Earlier this year, Allianz Trade also announced changes to its regional leadership teams, with James Daly, CEO of Allianz Trade in the Americas, set to retire on June 30, 2025.
Sarah Murrow, currently CEO of Allianz Trade in the UK & Ireland, will succeed him as of July 1, 2025, pending regulatory approval.
Des Cressonnières, 64, will retire from his role on Sept. 30, 2025, after nearly three decades with the Allianz Group. He joined in 1997 as CFO of Allianz Trade in Belgium. Between 2000 and 2007, he served as director of reinsurance and investor relations and corporate secretary at the group’s Paris headquarters.
Since then, he has held his current position, based in Zurich, while also serving as a member of the managing committee of the Allianz Group Reinsurance Office.
In addition to his responsibilities within Allianz, des Cressonnières has been active in the wider credit insurance sector. Over the past four years, he served as vice president and then president of the International Credit Insurance & Surety Association (ICISA).
