As manager of BBR Services, Kunthasami will be responsible for managing breach incidents reported by Beazley’s cyber policyholders in Canada. She will also oversee and manage the company’s vendors in Canada, and work with the underwriting and claims teams to support Beazley’s relationship with Canadian brokers.
Kunthasami joins from TD Bank, where she worked on cybersecurity projects such as incident response and security mitigation and planning. She also has prior experience working in a number of IT project management positions. She is fluent in both English and French.
“We are thrilled to have Priya join our team as the first breach response services manager in Canada,” commented BBR Services head Katherine Keefe. “Her experience in cybersecurity and IT makes her a great asset to the Canadian team, as well as the wider North American BBR team.”
The appointment comes after Beazley released its annual cyber breach trend report, Beazley Breach Briefing, which found that ransomware continues to be a major concern for businesses. Citing BBR Services’ data, the report said that the number of ransomware attack notifications clients reported last year increased by 131% from 2018.
