Home maintenance app Jiffy Inc. is expanding its services to Vancouver and Edmonton in the spring of 2025. The expansion marks a significant step for Jiffy as it extends its reach to new provinces, following the acquisition by Intact Financial Corporation, one of Canada’s largest insurers.

The app connects homeowners with local professionals who can handle a variety of home maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, furniture assembly, waterproofing, tree trimming, and roof and exterior repairs.

The move to Vancouver and Edmonton follows the success of Jiffy’s existing operations in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Calgary.

Property and casualty insurance provider Intact Financial Corporation announced its acquisition of Jiffy in late 2024. The move aims to broaden its access to home maintenance services nationwide while advancing Intact’s digital engagement strategy.

Founded in 2015, Jiffy is an app-based service that provides homeowners with a streamlined way to access professional services. The app has facilitated over 450,000 jobs, achieving a 96% five-star customer satisfaction rating and a median response time of under five minutes.

“Jiffy’s solution for homeowners and home service professionals is the next step in delivering on Intact's purpose to help people, businesses, and society prosper in good times and be resilient in bad times,” said Ryan Shupak, co-founder of Jiffy, in the wake of the acquisition.
