Hub International Limited has acquired Mumby Insurance Brokers – a Waterloo, Ontario-based P&C and employee benefits brokerage.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Mumby Insurance has years of experience working with insurance professionals across Canada. A release noted that the company has a special focus on serving architects, landscape architects, engineers and specification writers.
As part of the deal, Mumby Insurance vice-president Douglas Pinnell will join Hub International Ontario Limited (Hub Ontario) and report to the president of employee benefits in the region, Matt Lievers. Meanwhile, Mumby Insurance president Anthea Mumby will remain directly involved in the business in a consultant capacity; she will report to Hub Ontario personal insurance president Gerry De Lauro.
The deal comes days after Hub closed another transaction in Alberta, where the brokerage purchased the businesses Clearpoint Advisory Group, Clearpoint Retirement Solutions, and Canwest Group Benefits.
Clearpoint is a benefits and retirement consulting firm that provides strategic group benefit advisory services and retirement solutions to employers.
