Westland Insurance has been chosen to serve as the lead sponsor for Habitat for Humanity Manitoba’s home building initiative in Winnipeg.
As part of the sponsorship arrangement, Westland Insurance will donate $50,000 to Habitat for Humanity Manitoba. According to the brokerage, this donation is part of its “Amplifying Communities” initiative, wherein Westland has committed to invest a total of $1 million to support community projects and programs across Canada.
“We are excited to announce a partnership with Westland Insurance which is a very real and tangible investment in people and our communities,” said Habitat for Humanity-Manitoba CEO Sandy Hopkins. “Westland has grown to become the largest independent, Canadian-owned brokerage in the country, but it’s also one that has maintained a focus on its people, clients and communities it serves, as evidenced by today’s announcement.”
“This year, Westland Insurance established the Amplifying Communities initiative to continue a longstanding tradition of commitment to the people and communities we are proud to serve,” said Westland Insurance senior vice president of marketing & customer experience Cari Watson. “Our commitment to community and family values align greatly with the vision of Habitat for Humanity and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with such an important event in Manitoba.”
This is not the first time Westland Insurance has worked with Habitat for Humanity. In August, the brokerage gave the Habitat for Humanity Yorkton Chapter a $50,000 home sponsorship grant, to allow the chapter to build its ninth home in a local community.
The brokerage also gave another $50,000 to Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan.
