Brokers do their part for ‘Movember’

Those showing a hairy face during the month are giving more than lip service about men’s health issues – and one insurance brokerage is once again doing their part for “Movember.”

Adam Duliban, the owner of Duliban Insurance Brokers in Beamsville, Ont., is once again growing his moustache along with his fellow brokers as part of the globe charity effort known as “Movember” – a take on November and Moustache.

“It’s all about promoting men’s health,” says Duliban. “Everyone knows someone who has had cancer, be they a family member of a friend. This is our way of helping out.”

On board for the third year in a row, the some 30 staff members at all of the Duliban insurance branches are showing a stiff – albeit hairy – upper lip in the name of charity.

Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. Through the power of the moustache, vital funds and awareness are raised to combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.

Movember encourages men to join the movement by growing a moustache for the 30-days of November. After registering on Movember.com, these generous Mo Bros start the month clean-shaven, then grow and groom their Mo (slang for moustache), asking friends and family to donate to their efforts. With their new moustaches, these Mo Bros act as walking and talking billboards, bringing awareness to men’s health issues and prompting conversations wherever they go.

In the case of Adam Duliban, it is through his donation website. (continued.)

“We’re hoping to raise $2,000 in donations this year,” Duliban told Insurance Business. “And whatever monies we raise up to that, Duliban Insurance will match it.”

And what about the ladies at Duliban Insurance?

“We will be taking a photo at the end of the month, showing all the moustaches,” says Duliban. “And the women will tape moustaches on.”
