The Insurance Business Canada Awards (IBCAs), the nation’s most prestigious awards program for insurance professionals and organizations, has officially opened the call for nominations for its 2025 edition. With over 25 award categories spanning brokerage, underwriting, leadership, innovation, and more, the event promises to once again shine a spotlight on the brightest and most impactful talent in the Canadian insurance sector.

The nomination period begins today, May 5, 2025, and runs until July 24. Industry professionals are encouraged to submit nominations for colleagues, leaders, and organizations that have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and leadership over the past year.

Presented by Insurance Business Canada, the IBCAs have become a hallmark of achievement in the industry. Past winners include top-performing brokerages, outstanding insurers, and individuals whose work has driven progress and set new standards in customer service, technology, and professional development.

“This is the insurance industry’s night to recognize the individuals and teams that are truly moving the profession forward,” said global editor Paul Lucas. “We encourage everyone - from large firms to independent brokers - to take a moment to nominate those who deserve recognition.”

The awards cover a wide range of categories, including:

  • The Cansure Award for Insurance Broker of the Year
  • The Travelers Canada Award for Brokerage of the Year
  • The CNA Award for Excellent in Philanthropy and Customer Service
  • The PAL Insurance Brokers Award for Young Achiever of the Year
  • The Steamatic Canada Award for Woman of Distinction
  • The First OnSite Property Restoration Canada Award for Claims Team of the Year – Insurer

There is no cost to submit a nomination, and the process is streamlined - requiring only basic nominee information and a short submission outlining their achievements. All entries will be judged by an independent panel of industry leaders.

Finalists will be announced later this summer, with winners revealed at a black-tie gala on November 13, 2025, at the Liberty Grand in Toronto. The event is expected to draw hundreds of attendees from across the country.
