Coinciding with the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 08, Aviva Canada has opened nominations for its Women Creating Legacy in Insurance Scholarship Fund.
Nominations from throughout Canada will be accepted for the latest round in Aviva’s female-focused contest. One winner will be chosen from the nominees and will receive a scholarship to the Ivey Business School’s Leadership Program.
The one-week Ivey Leadership Program teaches participants “to think more strategically, enhance their leadership abilities and address complex management issues,” a release said. The recipient of the award will also have access to personal coaching from program faculty and peer networks.
A release said that, starting this round, Aviva will be accepting nominees of all ages in Canada. Last year, nominations for the November 2017 scholarship fund were open to women under 40 in Ontario only.
Aviva Canada partnered with Mills Insurance Brokers and Ivey Business School to launch the Women Creating Legacy in Insurance Scholarship Fund, in honor of insurance leader Christie Mills. Mills opened what would become Mills Insurance Brokers in 1979, serving as an inspiration for women in the insurance sector.
