Calgary-based brokers working with
Intact Insurance can now offer the lure of additional service for their customers at a difficult time and, maybe even more importantly, the gift of simplicity, with the recent opening of
Intact’s auto claims service centres.
The one-stop operation is very much geared to making life easier for customers who have been involved in an accident but can still drive their vehicle.
“Having a car repaired after an accident involves many steps and is inconvenient,” says Mike Van Elsberg, Deputy Senior Vice President of Claims, at Intact’s western division in Calgary. “We are making things easier for customers.”
“We know customers lead busy lives and this centre ensures the process of getting their car repaired is simple and easy. We know they want to get back to their day-to-day as quickly as possible and this centre helps facilitate that.”
Visitors to the service centre book a time to arrive and give their details to a service person while their vehicle is transferred; following the consultation customers can drive off in rental vehicle similar to their own, supplied by partner Enterprise. The experience typically takes around 15 minutes from arrival to departure.
“The reaction has been fantastic,” says Rosa Nelson of Intact Insurance. “Customers who have been through the process can’t believe how easy it is.”
“The brokers quite like it; it’s so easy to explain. We hear the customers become confused by the process [of making a claim]; this alleviates confusion. “
In its first week, the service centre was able to accept 10 cars per day – that figure is forecast to be raised to 15 shortly.
Calgary is the first city to play host to one of the new service centres with Toronto and Ottawa to follow by year end and Montreal next year.
The service centre is available both to Intact customers and those of belairedirect.
