Insurance Business Australia (IB) has named insurtech solution provider Stelvio Australia (Stelvio) one of its 5-star technology providers for 2022. In an interview with IB, Stelvio general manager Yannick Giguère reflected on the challenges that the company has faced over the past two years, including regulatory changes.
Stelvio has been providing innovative insurtech products to the Australian insurance and repairer management markets through its EstImage suite of products since 2001. It is the first software company in Australia to digitally connect organisations that manage accidents, claims, and repairs and has collaborated with some of the largest insurers across the country.
Giguère (pictured) told IB that Stelvio has faced “more mundane business challenges” over the past two years, with regulations under the New General Insurance Code of Practice requiring the company to add more compliance solutions and build-in features to its EstImage products.
He added that industry demand for faster turnaround also intensified the need for reducing touchpoints in the claims processes, and increasing demand for offering a single, centralised system led to functionality changes.
So, how did Stelvio address these issues? Giguère said: “Stelvio's close collaboration with its customers and partners provides great opportunities to continue developing new features and products within the EstImage suite to help businesses within the insurance industry run better.”
He added: “It's essential that insurtech providers are intrinsically aware of the challenges that companies within the insurance industry and their customers face and take considered, strategic steps towards developing solutions that map to these challenges.”
