Reinsurance Business has released its annual Hot List, naming 59 professionals who have made significant contributions to the reinsurance sector over the past year.
The recognition comes as the industry faces shifting dynamics, with Fitch Ratings recently revising its outlook for the global reinsurance market to “neutral” from “improving”. The change reflects concerns that the sector’s pricing cycle may have reached its peak.
Despite this, the reinsurance market achieved record profitability in 2023, driven by underwriting conditions that were among the strongest in two decades. This trend carried into the first quarter of 2024, reflecting continued stability even as pricing momentum slows.
The individuals named to the Hot List were chosen through research conducted by Reinsurance Business in July 2024.
The publication reviewed contributions from professionals who had demonstrated leadership, advanced innovation, or implemented key initiatives to address industry challenges over the prior 12 months.
Starting with a pool of over 300 candidates from around the world, the selection process narrowed the field to 59 figures based on their influence on the sector. The research team also considered previous accolades and recognitions as part of the evaluation.
