The event, which unfolded from February 9 to 11, involved an arduous 19km journey across Mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s tallest mountain. It featured 15 primary participants who, alongside their support crews and family members, demonstrated resilience and the strength of community support.

Lockton support

Lockton’s sponsorship aligns with its commitment to community engagement, specifically supporting the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.

The event aimed to gather crucial funds for the alliance, which would go towards employing qualified exercise physiologists and securing the specialised equipment necessary for exercise and sports programs targeted at teenagers and adults with physical disabilities.

Team Eadie

Team Eadie, supported by Lockton, included four Lockton employees:

  • Gavin Doherty;
  • David Maher;
  • Shweta Nimkar; and
  • Craig Simpson.

The members’ participation underscored not just the company’s support for Eadie’s challenge but also its broader goal to contribute significantly to the Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s mission.

Despite the initial cold conditions in the Kosciuszko National Park, the team completed the climb in vibrant attire, earning accolades for their spirited presentation.

Reflecting on the experience, Craig Simpson expressed the honour of participating in the climb and the learning curve it provided regarding the Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s vital work.

“It was a privilege to participate in the Krazy Kosci Klimb. We learned about the impactful work of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and witnessed 15 young people achieve something remarkable by reaching the top of Australia. The excitement, determination, and tears at the end were deeply moving,” he said.

Through the dedication of Team Eadie and the generosity of donors, the initiative successfully raised close to $16,000, contributing to the overall total of $472,528 raised by the Krazy Kosci Klimb.

In other news, Lockton Re recently added two members to its London office.
