MLC Life Insurance (MLC) has made double senior appointments to bolster its financial adviser support.
Jarrad Wilson and Rob Dassie, both well-known across the insurance industry, have joined MLC to grow its distribution capability and execute its sales strategy.
Wilson took on the role of head of distribution for the Northern Region. He has extensive experience in life insurance sales and managing insurance advice frameworks for large and small licensees, having held leadership roles at Westpac, BT Financial Group, and Suncorp Life.
He said: “MLC Life Insurance has an exciting strategy, and I'm looking forward to executing it with the team – by ensuring we align operations with distribution, we'll make sure our service to advisers is fit for purpose.”
Dassie will be the head of distribution for the Southern Region. He has over 20 years of industry experience, including most recently as the head of distribution and head of strategy and enablement at MLC Wealth. He also delivered outstanding services to financial planners with several companies, including Colonial, Commonwealth Bank, Aviva, and Insignia Financial.
He said: “MLC Life Insurance is one of Australia's leading and most trusted insurers, and I'm proud to continue that tradition and help usher in a period of increased growth and better outcomes for advisers.”
Wilson and Dassie will join MLC's already strong sales leadership team:
“Our sales team has already doubled our new sales market share, and we are excited for Rob and Jarrad to continue that trajectory,” said MLC Life Insurance general manager of distribution Michael Downey. “In Rob and Jarrad, we have two seasoned leaders in our industry. They'll be a crucial part of our sales strategy, which is focused on new business growth, building out our key partnerships, and driving a culture of excellence.”
MLC Life Insurance chief individual insurance officer Michael Rogers said: “Financial advisers are critical partners to MLC Life Insurance. Bringing in top talent ensures we can focus on delivering a total customer experience to our partners. Jarrad and Rob are the next step in demonstrating the improvements in our adviser experience and part of our strong commitment to the health and success of risk advice and the financial advice industry more broadly.”
The senior hires follow MLC's appointment of an independent non-executive director and the chair of the Board Risk Committee.
