Medibank has introduced a $50 voucher for its Live Better Rewards members in a bid to ease the burden of rising living costs and promote dental care.
This initiative aims to assist with out-of-pocket dental expenses incurred at Medibank’s network of Members Choice Advantage (MCA) dentists.
Throughout the month of February, Live Better Rewards members with Extras cover can access the $50 voucher via the My Medibank app. The voucher remains valid for 12 months, as long as the member maintains their Extras cover.
Medibank chief customer officer Milosh Milisavljevic said the initiative aims to enhance customer value.
“Our data shows that people are not visiting the dentist as regularly as they should, which would only be exacerbated with current cost-of-living pressures being felt in the community,” he said.
Medibank already provides full reimbursement for dental check-ups at Members Choice Advantage dentists. The addition of the $50 reward aims to encourage more frequent dental visits over the next year.
“For example, for customers with Essentials Extras that provides 75% back, the $50 voucher should cover most of the out-of-pocket costs for a typical dental filling, depending on how much the dentist charges,” Milisavljevic said. “Visiting the dentist for a routine check-up is one of the best ways to keep on top of your overall health, not just your oral health.”
