HCF has continued to give back its COVID-19 savings to its members, with the most recent totalling $40 million.

The latest giveback brings HCF's total cash giveback in 2023 to $176 million.

“We recognise the current pressures on household budgets being faced by our members and have kept our promise to continue passing on any COVID-19 savings,” said HCF CEO Sheena Jack. “This additional cash back is another way HCF is putting its money where our members are, not only through great value cover, but support when and where it counts.”

Eligible members of HCF and its other brands – RT Health and Transport Health – will receive funds deposited directly into their accounts later this year.

HCF COVID-19 support and givebacks

HCF has provided its members with over $536 million of COVID-related support and benefits, the insurer said.

HCF said it has supported its members through the following:

  • Three premium increase deferral in three years;
  • $309 million in cash giveback;
  • premium relief to 46,273 eligible members;
  • $16 million in everyday savings through the insurer's loyalty program, HCF Thank You;
  • Keeping eligible dependants on family health cover for longer;
  • increased cover for mental health services on selected extras; and
  • expanded range of health and wellbeing programs.
