Emergence Insurance has created an in-house incident response and cyber claims team to manage and settle cyber claims.
According to a statement from Emergence, this team is the first of its kind in Australia. Dedicated cyber breach coaches will lead the incident response process, providing immediate, professional and thorough response to cyber events. Meanwhile, the team’s cyber claims handlers will manage the claims process from the first notification of loss, up until the finalisation of a claim.
The team is led by Blake Baxter, head of Emergence incident response and cyber claims. Baxter has more than nine years of experience working as a specialist in cyber insurance, having built and managed incident response and claims handling functions in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
“Having in-house resources allows us to work closely with our brokers and their clients and when needed, be there to provide the assistance they require,” said Troy Filipcevic, founder and CEO of Emergence Insurance.
“We’re committed to ensuring our processes, technology, service and talent evolve. The formation of the claims and incident response team will allow us to expand our offering to now deliver a market-leading cyber proposition that includes, underwriting, incident response and claims service. Delivering this proposition is at the heart of everything we do, which is to exceed the expectations of our clients and broker partners.”
