Emergence Insurance (Emergence) has appointed Katrina Hickson as its new business development underwriter for Queensland (QLD) and the Northern Territory (NT).
Hickson has over 14 years of insurance and premium funding experience across QLD and the NT.
As the new business development underwriter, Hickson will be responsible for educating and providing cyber insurance solutions to brokers while building on a strong foundation to continue to grow the firm's presence in QLD and the NT.
Emergence founder and chief executive officer Troy Filipcevic commented that Hickson's understanding of business development, underwriting, and risk management, as well as her ability to support brokers, will be a strong asset to the team and help the firm grow.
“We are thrilled to have Katrina join the Emergence team. Katrina is a highly experienced business development manager and is well known to a large number of people in the insurance industry, particularly in QLD and NT,” Filipcevic said.
Commenting on her appointment, Hickson said: “With cyber fraud becoming more and more prevalent in today's digital world, this role is critical in being able to educate brokers on the importance of cyber insurance and to ensure their clients have the right protection in place to be cyber safe.”
