Queensland-based Brighter Super manages around $30 billion in assets on behalf of about 250,000 members.
The partnership – effective July 1, 2023 – will allow Brighter Super members to access Zurich’s claims service, health and wellness offerings, and sustainability initiatives.
Zurich currently providing group insurance for Bright Super’s energy division, and Bright Super members are not expected to see any tweaks to policy terms or coverage as a result of the change.
“Zurich and Brighter Super share a common commitment to providing market-leading services to members,” Darren Wickham, head of group insurance at Zurich Australia, said.
Justin Delaney, CEO of Zurich Australia & New Zealand, said the insurance giant will bring the best of its wider enterprise to superannuation members.
“We are excited at the opportunity to deepen our partnership with Brighter Super to support [it] members with great value and fantastic service,” Delaney said.
Brighter Super CEO Kate Farrar said the superannuation fund chose Zurich to provide group insurance for its members after considering which offering was in the best financial interest of its members.
“We are delighted to deepen our partnership with Zurich as a key strategic partner to our business,” Farrar said. “Zurich’s purpose is to create a brighter future together, and this outlook obviously resonated for our business.”
The partnership with Brighter Super follows recent Zurich board changes, including the appointment of a new chair.
