Zurich has received the Economic Dividends for Gender Equality (EDGE) certification for its work on diversity and gender equality.
The insurer, which was the first global insurance company to be recognised with EDGE certification in 2015, has received the first level of certification, EDGE Assess, and has committed to making further improvements to its business over the next two years.
These will include proactively managing pay equity, implementing a flexible working program and improving the understanding and transparency of the promotion process.

“Receiving EDGE Certification is a demonstration of Zurich’s strategic commitment to diversity and inclusion. It’s a key pillar in ensuring Zurich in Australia has the right mix of talent to succeed,” said Tim Bailey, CEO, Zurich Life & Investments, Australia.
The certification provides data and benchmarking measures to support the identification of specific initiatives to improve gender equality.
Late last year,
Allianz and
Suncorp were named as the only two general insurance firms to be given Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WEGA) employer of choice for gender equality citations.
