Zurich has introduced a new legal panel to provide legal services for large and complex claims in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region following last year's legal panel arrangement for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
The new legal panel, which came into force last month, comprises BLM in association with Global Insurance Law Connect (GILC), Clyde & Co, and DAC Beachcroft LLP in association with Legalign Global and Kennedys Law.
Commenting on the new panel, Zurich head of claims for APAC Matt Cottrell said: “This is great news for our customers and our broking partners who will be able to receive specialist legal advice provided by highly respected international law firms that are based in the region and have a global reach. The legal and market insights they'll provide to Zurich and our customers will be invaluable, particularly for larger, more complex claims.”
The new legal panel also complements existing local country panel arrangements and benefits claims arising from Zurich International Programs, where more than one legal jurisdiction might be involved.
Zurich group chief claims officer Ian Thompson commented: “The new legal panel arrangements for the APAC region provides unique access to a consolidated level of legal insight, enabling us to observe trends more closely and to make better decisions. Our customers will benefit from a more joined-up experience, whether on a specific claim or where they have nominated legal expert within their claims handling protocol.”
