The development of a new commercial tower that will soon house Zurich Financial Services Australia commenced this week.
Zurich's new Australian headquarters will be a 25-storey, 20,000-square-metre PCA A-grade building located at 118 Mount Street, North Sydney. It will target a five-star Green Star and five-star NABERS Energy ratings and will feature a two-level podium with café, a sky terrace, three-basement car parking levels, and end-of-trip facilities.
To make way for the new building, an existing six-story complex is being demolished.
“We are delighted that this project is getting underway,” said Tim Bailey, CEO of Zurich Life and Investments Australia. “This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to develop a workplace that is tailored to the needs of our people and our customers. From late 2020, our Sydney-based teams will be able to welcome our customers into a state-of-the-art, purpose-built building, one that aligns to the culture of innovation and service that we’re aspiring to.”
Zurich Australian Property Holdings, Zurich Insurance Group’s property development arm, is overseeing the development of the tower, with Zurich Financial Services Australia set to occupy the majority of floors as anchor tenant.
