The coronavirus pandemic has not stopped FightMND from holding its annual Big Freeze event – albeit virtual this time around – which saw Zurich Australia donate $20,000 in its continued support of the fight against motor neurone disease (MND).

“June 2020 marks the third year that we have played a role in supporting the Big Freeze campaign with Neale [Daniher],” Zurich Australia’s life & investments chief executive Justin Delaney was quoted as saying when the donation – which was presented by captain Max Gawn (pictured, left) on behalf of the insurer – was announced by Melbourne Football Club.

Daniher, co-founder and patron of FightMND, previously coached the team while Zurich Australia is the club’s co-principal partner.

“As an insurer,” added Delaney, “we witness the devastating and long-term impact that motor neurone disease has on individuals and their families. The emotional and financial impact on those diagnosed and their loved ones around them is profound, so it’s very close to our hearts.”
