Initially becoming a co-principal partner of MFC in 2018 and extending its support to the women’s team in 2020, Justin Delaney, CEO at Zurich Australia & New Zealand, believes the partnership drives mutual benefits.
“We are proud to extend our partnership with the Melbourne Football Club following six successful years working closely together on a number of important initiatives,” he said.
Among these initiatives are “Goals for Good” and support for charitable causes like FightMND, targeting motor neurone disease, and the Reach Foundation, which focuses on the mental health and wellbeing of youth.
Under the terms of the renewed partnership, Zurich’s branding will remain visible on the match-day guernseys for both the men’s and women’s teams, as well as on their training gear.
“Our partnership with the Melbourne Football Club provides a valuable platform for Zurich to connect with our customers, partners, employees, and the broader Australian community,” Delaney said.
Melbourne Football Club CEO Gary Pert expressed optimism about the future of this partnership, highlighting its importance to the club’s recent successes and future aspirations.
“Zurich’s unwavering commitment to our club has been instrumental in our success, and we are excited to continue this journey together,” he said. “We look forward to the next few years, as we aim to achieve new heights and create unforgettable moments for our members and supporters.”
The move follows Zurich’s extension of its 12-month backing for an Australian mental health charity.
