Jason Grant, XL Catlin’s Australasia manager for international financial lines (IFL), has been promoted to a new leadership role within the global insurer’s Asia-Pacific business.
The 25-year industry veteran has been appointed Asia-Pacific manager for IFL, bringing to the role a wealth of experience working across Asia-Pacific, Europe, the UK, and the US, including at Liberty International Underwriters, AIG, AMP, and Minet Professional Services.
In his new role, Grant will lead the IFL underwriting team in the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on building XL Catlin’s financial and professional risks portfolio and market presence. He will continue to be based in Sydney.
“We’re seeing an increasingly litigious landscape and heightened regulatory pressure in the region, and these are impacting how companies conduct their businesses,” said Timothy Powell, chief underwriting officer for IFL. “Given Jason’s extensive experience in both the Australian and overseas markets, I’m confident that he will lead the APAC IFL team to provide innovative solutions and superior service to best meet the ever-changing insurance needs of our clients.”
