A 16-year insurance veteran has joined a global broking, and solutions company to further develop the firm's corporate and broking (CRB) capabilities in Australia.
Sampath Soysa took on the position of claims manager – Northern and Southern Region Australia within Willis Towers Watson's CRB team, and is now based in the firm's Melbourne office.
In his new role, Soysa is tasked to enable the company to deliver excellent broker claims service throughout the country.

“Sampath will be responsible for leading and further developing the CRB claims team’s high quality, client-focused approach to claims management, with a remit to attract and retain the best broker claims talent in the industry,” said

Soysa brings to the firm more than 16 years of experience with local and multinational insurers across Australia and New Zealand. He was most recently COO and head of claims for
ATC Insurance Solutions, the largest independent Lloyd's of London cover-holder in Australia. Before that, he worked at Gilchrist Connell Lawyers as Melbourne practice leader – principal (partner) and at Moray & Agnew Lawyers as special council. In these roles he acted on behalf of many of Australasia's leading insurers and also worked closely on claims with a number of international brokers and insured corporate entities.
Soysa also founded and was the first Australasian president of Young Insurance Professionals (YIPs) Australia and New Zealand, which grew to eight branches and 6,500 members during his five-year presidency.
