Mary Cooper, people and culture risk specialist at Youi Insurance, has been named one of Insurance Business Australia's Rising Stars for 2023.
Cooper has excellent communication skills, a commitment streamlining processes, and an unwavering dedication to creating meaningful employee experiences. Throughout her 11 years at Youi, she has collaborated with exceptional people and culture professionals and experts in the broader realm of insurance operations.
IB identified the Australian insurance industry's rising stars by inviting professionals from across the Australian insurance industry to nominate their most exceptional young talent (age 35 years or under) for the ninth annual Rising Stars list. Nominees must be working in a role that related to, interacted with, or impacted the general insurance industry and must be committed to a career in insurance with a clear passion for the industry.
The IB team then asked the nominees about their current role, key achievements, career goals, and contributions to the shaping of the industry. It also considered recommendations from managers and senior industry professionals. After reviewing all nominations, the team narrowed the list down to 45 of the industry's most outstanding young professionals.
According to the IB team's research, Cooper's insurance career has been filled with opportunities to engineer enduring solutions across various areas of business.
Cooper has been recognised by her peers for taking intricate or unappealing processes and transforming them into enjoyable experiences, believing in the power of curiosity, and being unapologetically inquisitive when it comes to understanding challenges and needs and dispelling common misconceptions.
