Dixon Insurance Services director Ken Dixon, who has worked in the insurance industry for 32 years, has been named one of Insurance Business Australia's (IB) Elite Brokers for 2023.
The IB special report ranks the best-performing insurance brokers in Australia, not just those with the biggest portfolios or the largest number of clients.
Since establishing Dixon Insurance Services 10 years ago, Dixon has grown the business to three offices in Toowoomba, Nambour, and Brisbane – servicing clients across Australia. As part of leading the business, he has worked hard to drive a culture of opportunity and staff empowerment while advocating for his clients.
In an interview with IB, Dixon said he has demonstrated continued growth, advocacy, and performance on his client's behalf.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dixon challenged insurers over the Quarantine Act application to insurance wordings – arguing that the act did not apply as an exclusion because the Biosecurity Act was invoked by the Morrison government, and it was not a subsequent amendment to the act. Dixon's client won the test case in the Appeals Court, with a unanimous five-judge verdict.
When asked about his goals, Dixon said: “I will continue to empower and encourage my staff to perform at their best as I have done for the last decade. I will continue to advocate for my clients, embracing new technology and being open to business and industry changes.”
