The National Insurance Brokers Association revealed Western Australia’s best brokers yesterday with two eminent professionals making the cut.
Kim Gilbert, from Zenith Insurance Services, and Neil Watson, from Gibbscorp, were named as the finalists for the Western Australia Broker of the Year Award by NIBA president Dallas Booth.
“We are delighted to recognise Kim and Neil who have both demonstrated excellence in broking practice,” said Booth.
Sponsored by QBE, the award is given to an individual broker who is deemed an inspirational role model for the wider broking community. The state winner will then go on to compete for the national Stephen Ball Memorial Award for Insurance Broker of the Year.
Kim Gilbert, who has owned Zenith for 17 years, said he was honoured to have been chosen as a finalist for the prestigious award.
“It is a privilege to be nominated and recognised for my small contribution to the broking profession and as a finalist, I look forward to continuing to promote the broking profession as a career of choice for people looking for a future in the financial services sector,” he said.
Neil Watson also said he felt proud to have been recognised as a finalist.
“The quality of nominees is always high so it is an achievement just to be a finalist,” he said. “I believe being named a finalist is recognition of a long-term contribution to the insurance broking profession and to the broader community.”
The Western Australia region winners will be announced at the NIBA WA Gala Lunch on July 27 at Crown, Perth. The state winner will go on to compete for the Stephen Ball Memorial Award for Insurance Broker of the Year, which will be announced at the 2018 NIBA Convention in Hobart, Tasmania.
