Broking bikie organises industry charity ride

Broking bikie Kate Najar is organising an insurance professionals 300km charity motorcycle ride across NSW in December.
Harley-owner Najar, of Brookvale Insurance Brokers, has taken part in charity rides before. She decided to organise the inaugural Insurance Professional Ride after realising how many industry professionals are also motorcycle enthusiasts.
Several industry professionals have already signed up including Steadfast managing director and CEO Robert Kelly who will be taking to the open road on his Harley and MECON Winsure CEO Glenn Ross will be riding his BMW at the 9th December event.
All the proceeds will go to charity including Amanda Vella’s S.A.H.A Horse Rescue and HeartKids Australia.
Motorcyclists are to meet at Sky (Cowan) at 8.30am, with the ride set to start an hour later.
The trip will take bikies through the back roads of Windsor, arriving at the Windsor pub for lunch around midday, and then through Glenorie and via Berowra ferry.


RM Advancer Awards finalists revealed

A ski lift operator, a water and sewage management company, and a gambling and entertainment companies are among the businesses selected as finalists for Vero’s ninth-annual risk management awards.
Ten Vero customers have been shortlisted for the RM Advancer Awards’ three categories – property, liability and motor vehicle, which, recognises and rewards effective risk management of the insurer’s large clients.

Cooper Gay Asia appoints Hong Kong managing director

Cooper Gay Asia has appointed Karen Lieu managing director of its Hong Kong business.
She will develop the company’s product offering, including the development of niche financial risk and employee benefit products for the region.
Lieu joins from Willis International where she was head of global solutions in Asia and brings over 23 years of insurance industry experience to Cooper Gay. Previously, she was Marsh Hong Kong CEO and managing director.
She will be based in Hong Kong and report to Stephen Britten, Cooper Gay’s regional managing director, Asia Pacific.
