Two international players announced expansion of their
Australian business with XL Catlin opening a new office in a state capital and
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance bringing in new staff for several new product lines.
Industry veterans
LMI Group and The Financial Services School announced a formal joint venture for the education market.
Val Phinn, director of The Financial Services School, told
Insurance Business that the partnership highlights the views both companies share on the education of brokers.
“We joined forces through our mutually agreed views on education for the insurance industry,” Phinn said.
“When it comes to education we are on the same page, the insurance industry is unique and the education programs offered to the industry should reflect this.”
Finally,
Zurich announced the latest CEO for their general insurance business in Australia and New Zealand.
Rajbir Nanra, currently the interim CEO of the business, will take the reins full-time effective immediately.
