Talbot Underwriting Australia has announced the launch of a new crisis management underwriting team with the hiring of two key members of staff.
Steve Ward and Hamish McKay will join the company from XL Catlin as a senior class underwriter and a class underwriter respectively.
Managing director of Talbot Australia, Adam Matteson, said that the move will allow the company to serve an important and growing market both at home and abroad.
“We are pleased to have two leading underwriters for crisis management in Australia join us,” Matteson said.
“Their appointments will allow us to service a growing part of the Australasian market and support the growth of our existing platform in Singapore.”
CEO of Talbot Australia, John Ewington, noted that the moves show the commitment to growth of the company as it looks to develop its presence.
“Talbot continues to demonstrate its commitment to build out its presence and capabilities in the region in order to meet clients' needs,” Ewington said.
“We are delighted that we have been able to attract two of the top market specialists in crisis management and we look forward to working with Steve and Hamish to firmly establish Talbot as a recognised leader in this highly specialised class.”
Ward has previously worked in managerial positions at
AIG in Sydney and Brisbane whilst McKay has underwriting experience with
QBE in Auckland.
