Suncorp have announced that their chief information officer, Matt Pancino, has left the business amid reports he has joined rival Commonwealth Bank.

Pancino was confirmed in the role in February as part of the shake-up of its senior management team.

Two months after confirmation, Suncorp CEO and managing director, announced Pancino’s resignation in a statement to the ASX on Friday.

“I would like to recognise and thank Mark for his contribution over the past five years, and wish him well in his future,” Cameron said.

The insurer said that an internal and external search is already underway for a replacement for Pancino as the position will be filled by the businesses chief transformation officer, Clayton Herbert, until a permanent replacement if appointed.

The Australian reported that Pancino will join Commonwealth Bank having worked at Suncorp since 2010.

Pancino will leave the business effective April 29.
