TAL has appointed financial services executives David Cohen and Annette King to its board.
Cohen will officially join on April 1 and will assume chairmanship on May 8, replacing Mark Joiner, who stepped down in late 2024.
King joined as independent non-executive director in December.
Cohen brings 16 years of experience at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), most recently serving as its deputy chief executive officer.
At CBA, he oversaw business divestments, supervised mergers and acquisitions, and advanced customer complaint resolution. His prior positions include CBA group general counsel, group executive human resources, and chief risk officer.
"I'm delighted to join the TAL Board and work with CEO Fiona Macgregor and the executive team," Cohen said.
Before CBA, Cohen served as general counsel at AMP and as a partner at a national law firm.
He recently joined Westpac as an independent non-executive director and holds bachelor of laws and bachelor of arts degrees from the University of Sydney.
As a former life insurance CEO and former president of the Actuaries Institute, she offers expertise in insurance, wealth management, superannuation and investments.
King specializes in growing businesses through enhanced customer experience, organizational culture, and innovation via data and technology.
"Life insurance plays a crucial role in protecting the financial security of Australians," King said.
King currently serves as an independent non-executive director of HCF, Australian Finance Group and U Ethical Investors.
