Life insurer TAL has joined the growing list of insurers who are offering premium relief for drought-affected farmers.
The waiver will be available to existing TAL customers, including on TAL’s Insuranceline and Alliance partner products, who qualify for the federal government’s Farm Household Allowance and who live in a drought-declared area in NSW or Queensland.
Premiums will be waived for payments that are due Sept. 1. Eligible customers have until Nov. 30 to apply for the waiver. The premium waiver will apply for a period of up to six months.
“The current drought is placing immense strain on Australia’s farmers in NSW and Queensland, who form part of the backbone of this Australian life,” said Brett Clark, TAG group CEO and managing director. “We understand that in these challenging circumstances, every dollar counts, and we are proud to support farmers in NSW and Queensland who are impacted by the drought. We encourage our customers to contact TAL or their financial adviser to access the premium relief package. This support will ensure that farmers in drought-affected areas and their families can maintain the life insurance cover they need and provide some financial relief during this difficult time.”
To apply for the premium waiver, customers can contact TAL’s customer service centre at 1300 209 088, send an email to [email protected], or through their adviser.
