Insurance giant Suncorp has confirmed a new Brisbane location this week as it continues its consolidation process and pushes towards a future-ready workplace.
“The new workplace will reflect Suncorp’s Queensland heritage, with a design that is focused on our people and their experience, as well as engaging our customers and the community,” said CEO and MD Michael Cameron.
From 2022, the firm’s Brisbane operations will be moved to 80 Ann Street, a new development in the city centre which is less than two kilometres from Suncorp Stadium.
“80 Ann Street is purpose-built for Suncorp and aligns to Brisbane City Council’s ‘Buildings that Breathe’ principles for sub-tropical architecture, while re-invigorating an historic part of the city,” said Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz, CEO and MD of real estate group Mirvac.
“We look forward to working with the Suncorp design team to create a workplace that supports the needs of their company and the community,” she added.
Cameron also explained that, as well as improving collaboration, the move would lead to significant cost savings for Suncorp.
“It will provide the flexibility we require for our future workforce and is an opportunity to bring our teams in Brisbane together into one location, creating efficiencies as we have done in Sydney, Auckland and Melbourne,” he said.
Suncorp’s consolidations have already resulted in meaningful operational efficiencies, with the Sydney project delivering close to a 30% saving in cost and space efficiency.
