Solution Underwriting, Chubb announce new NDIS product

Solution Underwriting and Chubb Insurance Australia have introduced a new National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) product.

The new product addresses the needs of NDIS providers in three core areas:

• Disability service providers who directly support participants by personal care, domestic assistance, social and lifestyle support, home maintenance, and assistance with getting out and about;
• Support coordinators who help participants connect with disability service providers that best suit their needs and NDIS plan; and
• Plan managers who help participants maximise the use of their NDIS funding and manage the payment of disability service providers.

However, Solution Underwriting and Chubb clarified that the product does not provide coverage for those undertaking nursing care, wound care, medication management, or palliative care services. It also does not cover those providing overnight stays or accommodation services.

“Offering professional indemnity and general liability under our Solution ONE wording, cover can be provided whether the services are delivered by an individual or a business with employees,” Solution Underwriting said in a statement.

The offer extends to NDIS registered and non-registered providers, with disability service provider rates starting from $375 base premium.
