Solution Underwriting launched a new app late last week, aimed at making life easier for clients with corporate travel insurance.
Among other benefits, the Solution Assistance app allows users to digitize paper tickets and consolidate various travel documents to be stored in one place.
Tailored to individual clients, the app also includes 24-hour emergency assistance details and access to relevant websites such as DFAT, Smart Traveller and Consular Contacts.
Speaking to Insurance Business, director Anita Lane said Solution had been motivated to develop the app because they wanted to ease stressful situations for customers.
“It’s about keeping up with modern times and trying to understand how corporate travellers operate,” said Lane. “We just want to find solutions for end customers, to make their whole experience easier.”
Lane also said the move aligns with Solution’s own ambitions to be more environmentally friendly.
“We used to to have a card which was sent out to all of the clients but we’re a paperless office and I’m into trying to save as much plastic and paper as we can so I thought sending out all of these plastic cards wasn’t a very good long-term approach to what we want to do,” she said.
Lane also noted that brokers have been quick to weigh in on the new offering with positive feedback.
“We’ve had some amazing feedback already that it’s a really good step forward,” she said. “It’s not overly complicated, it’s just simple but effective.”
Commenting on other developments that are in the pipeline, Lane couldn’t reveal any specifics but said Solution is always looking for ways to improve on their current offering.
“We’re always looking at what we currently do and how we can do it better, easier and smarter,” said Lane. “I think the app is a good example of that.”
