Commercial law firm Hicksons has appointed Persia Navidi as a new partner as part of its expansion into climate and cyber risk legal and advisory services.
Operating for over 65 years, Hicksons creates sustainable value through legal and commercial advice, services, and solutions. As risk management related to climate and cybersecurity becomes increasingly pressing for directors and officers (D&Os), the firm has expanded its legal and advisory services.
Navidi has more than 11 years of experience in insurance law, specialising in financial lines, providing coverage advice and acting in the defence of insureds in claims resulting from D&Os and professional indemnity (PI) insurance policies. Over the years, she has worked with Australian and global financial lines insurers.
Navidi joined Hicksons from HWL Ebsworth. Previously, she worked at Norton Rose Fulbright and Lander & Rogers. Currently, she focuses particularly on risks related to climate change, including managing climate-related financial risks, and cybersecurity.
Commenting on the appointment, Hicksons managing partner Stewart Cameron said: “Persia is highly regarded as an expert in insurance and risk mitigation, having worked with leading Australian and global insurers. On behalf of our team at Hicksons, I am pleased to welcome Persia to the team.”
Navidi commented: “I am delighted to join Hicksons, and [I] look forward to working closely with companies and their insurers to manage and mitigate climate and cyber risks. It is a fascinating time to work with clients in these fields, particularly with the increasing [regulatory] focus on both of these areas and the constantly evolving landscape. I look forward to contributing to these fast-growing areas at the firm.”
