Insurer and motoring group RACQ will turn Brisbane’s pavement pink on March 08 as a sea of runners take part in its International Women’s Fun Run to raise awareness and funds for Mater Foundation’s breast cancer research.
RACQ’s Lucinda Ross said this year’s event is set to reach a new fundraising record.
“We’ve had an incredible response this year, with the event selling out within a few weeks and runners raising more than $670,000 with just a week to go,” Ross said. “It’s really heart-warming to see such a strong response to this fundraiser, and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact these donations will have. Thanks to these generous donations, more people living with breast cancer will be able to access practical support services.”
Ross said runners will get to enjoy Brisbane’s landmarks – including the Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point, and City Botanic Gardens – while raising important funds. More fun await participants post-run in the finishers’ village where they can take massages, meditation sessions, and the opportunity to win some great prizes.
RACQ is still accepting donations via its International Women’s Day Fun Run website.
