As part of the agreement, QBE will underwrite and issue home (including landlord), motor, and compulsory third-party (CTP) insurance products under the Kogan Insurance online brand, with Kogan.com earning commissions on sales of the online brand's policies.
Eleanor Debelle, managing director, consumer, at QBE Australia Pacific, said the QBE team is confident that the deal with Kogan.com will enable the insurance giant to deliver a best-practice digital sales experience for customers.

Kogan.com, which has more than 3 million Australian customers, is a leading consumer brand well known for price leadership through digital efficiency. It focuses on making in-demand products and services more affordable and accessible through its retail and services businesses, such as Kogan Retail, Kogan Marketplace, Kogan Mobile, Kogan Internet, Kogan Insurance, Kogan Travel, Kogan Money, Kogan Cars, Kogan Energy, Dick Smith, Matt Blatt, and Mighty Ape.
Its new relationship with QBE replaces a previous agreement with another insurance company and positions Kogan Insurance to deliver on the next stage of its growth plans.
Ron Gelberg, director of partner care at Kogan.com, said the deal with QBE will enable Kogan Insurance to simplify the insurance buying process and provide an excellent experience for its customers.
“Kogan.com has built a strong reputation for providing consumers with the products they want, at the price they want, when they want it,” Gelberg added.
Kogan Insurance expects to launch its new insurance offerings in conjunction with QBE this year.
